Masjid Expansion Project

The Kawartha Muslim Religious Association is a registered, non-profit, charitable organization representing a large number of Muslims in the Kawartha area including the cities of Peterborough, Lakefield, Bobcaygeon, Lindsay and Cobourg. The KMRA was formed in 1991 with a handful of Muslim families at the time. Alhamdulillah, it now represents a significant Islamic presence in the region as many Muslims from the greater Toronto area have been moving to Peterborough and the surrounding area.

The KMRA was successful to buy a church in 2002 and it became Al-Salaam Mosque. Since then, AL-Salam Mosque has been the only mosque in Peterborough and the surrounding areas.

Alhamdulillah, recently we have purchased a property adjacent to our Mosque for future expansion (776 Parkhill Road West). We are actively collecting funds to expand the masjid and accommodate the current Muslim population's religious services in the historic Canadian city of Peterborough, Ontario.
