SMS Donation Notifications

Information about SMS notifications associated with recurring donations made through Masjidbox donation terminals.

About the service

Masjidbox provides donation software and physical donation terminals to mosques and nonprofit organizations.

When you set up a recurring donation on a Masjidbox donation terminal, you enter your mobile phone number as part of the setup. Masjidbox may use this number to send you transactional messages about that donation, such as a confirmation and a secure link to manage it in the Donor Portal.

One-time donations on the terminal do not ask for a phone number and do not use this SMS service. We never send marketing, promotional or fundraising messages through it.

How SMS enrollment works

There is no web sign-up form for these messages. They are tied to a recurring donation set up in person on a Masjidbox donation terminal:

Choose a recurring donation (for example, monthly) on a Masjidbox donation terminal.
On the screen titled "Enter your phone number", enter your mobile number. The terminal asks for it only for recurring donations.
Complete the recurring donation with your card.
Receive a text message confirming your recurring donation, with a link to manage it.

Providing your phone number on the terminal is how we can text you about the recurring donation you set up. It does not subscribe you to any other messages, and this page does not enroll anyone by itself.

These are the messages we currently send in English. The link reference and code below are examples, not real data.

Recurring donation set up

Masjidbox: Thank you for your monthly donation. Manage it at https://masjidbox.com/donor?uid=XXXXXXXXXX Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

Recurring payment failed

Masjidbox: Your monthly donation payment failed. Update your payment method at https://masjidbox.com/donor?uid=XXXXXXXXXX Reply STOP to opt out.

Verification code you request in the Donor Portal

Your Masjidbox verification code is: 123456. This code expires in 10 minutes.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies. You usually receive one message when your recurring donation is set up. You may also receive a message if a recurring payment fails, and a verification code each time you request one in the Donor Portal. We do not send a message for every successful recurring payment. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out

Reply STOP to unsubscribe from SMS notifications. Opting out of SMS does not cancel your recurring donation.

After you opt out, verification codes can no longer reach you by text. Contact support@masjidbox.com if you need help linking a donation to your account.

Privacy and terms

Your phone number and SMS consent information are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Our SMS provider, Twilio, processes them solely to deliver our messages.

Enrollment takes place on physical Masjidbox donation terminals installed in mosques, not through a public web form. The terminal asks for the phone number on a dedicated screen, after the donor chooses a recurring donation and before payment.
