How Nour Mosque in Annemasse Enhanced Its Digital Communication
Founded in October 2000, the Nour Association set out to create a space for spirituality and culture for the Muslim community in Annemasse and its surroundings. In August 2005, thanks to the generous mobilization of its members, the association acquired a building at 15 rue des Fontaines, in the Perrier neighborhood, which quickly became the renowned Nour Mosque, an essential religious and cultural center.
Today, the mosque welcomes between 400 and 600 worshippers every Friday, with peaks reaching up to 1,300 attendees during special events such as Ramadan and Eid prayers. With a rich program, including Arabic classes, regular lectures, activities dedicated to women, and open-house days, the mosque is a dynamic and vibrant community hub.
To strengthen its communication and simplify event management, the Nour Mosque communication team chose the digital solution Masjidbox, achieving significant results.
Major Gain: 80% Time Saved
Before adopting Masjidbox, administrative communication tasks required considerable time each week. With Masjidbox's automation and centralized announcements, this workload has been reduced by fivefold. This valuable time saving now allows the communication team to better focus on their core mission: providing spiritual guidance, organizing more activities, and strengthening community bonds.
Masjidbox has made it easier to share important messages, and usage statistics now allow us to tailor our announcements precisely. We've clearly seen a noticeable increase in event participation since implementing these digital tools.
23,000 Mobile App Downloads
The Masjidbox mobile app has been a great success among worshippers, with over 23,000 downloads. This figure demonstrates widespread adoption and confirms the app’s user-friendliness and the community's interest in staying informed via mobile.
Simple, fast, and useful: it’s a great app. Thank you for helping us stay connected to mosque life!
15,000 Push Notification Subscribers
With more than 15,000 push notification subscribers, Nour Mosque makes full use of this instant communication channel to effectively broadcast prayer times, event reminders, and special announcements. This feature greatly enhances worshipper engagement and their connection to mosque life.
12 Dynamic Screens with Automated Live Streaming
The mosque installed 12 dynamic screens managed through Masjidbox to provide real-time information to attendees on-site. These screens display prayer times, upcoming events, and live broadcasts of major gatherings such as Jumu’ah, Tarawîh, and Eid prayers. Thanks to the full automation of live stream activation and deactivation, the team avoids technical interventions during important spiritual moments.
The digital screens let us follow prayer times and announcements in real-time, even from the entrance. We feel more connected to mosque life, even outside of prayer times.
Strengthened Digital Presence
In addition to Masjidbox tools, Nour Mosque has built a strong digital presence through its website, social media, and effective SEO strategies. Over the past year, its website attracted 7,000 unique visitors, generated 20,100 clicks from Google, and achieved a strong digital retention rate of 62.9%, reaching a notably international audience.
Looking Ahead: Continuing Digitalization
Encouraged by these results, Nour Mosque plans to implement an SMS notification system, create an online members’ area for registered families, and engage in regular knowledge sharing with other mosques using Masjidbox.
Thanks to Masjidbox, Nour Mosque in Annemasse has strengthened its digital communication, retained regular visitors, and simplified event management.
